Legile lui Ranganathan

Shiyali Ramamrita Ranganathan   12  August 1892 – 27 September 1972) was a mathematician and librarian from India. His most notable contributions to the field were his five laws of library science.

1. Books are for use. Cartile sunt pentru a fi folosite.
2. Every reader his [or her] book. Fiecare cititor are cartea lui
3. Every book its reader. Fiecare carte are cititorul ei.
4. Save the time of the reader. Economisește timpul cititorului
5. The library is a growing organism. Biblioteca este un organism în creștere.
